How Packaging Influences the Behavior of customers

When you have packaging that stands out, customers will recognize it. You want to make sure that you give them the right opinions. Here are a few ways that packaging influences the behavior of consumers:

  • Recognizing it: when you have packaging that stands out, customers will recognize it, and ultimately remember the brand. The more distinct, the more customers will remember it. it’s why brands have different sigils that represent them. This has very little to do with the product overall, and it’s more about direct symbolism that they associate with it.

  • Confusion is another thing. If you change this too much, it will push customers away. they won’t be able to maintain and follow the brand, or even recognize it whenever they shop at your store.

  • It also impacts the perception of quality.  When you give them something that’s embossed, and there is colored wrapping inside, they think the product will match that. If you give them a reused box for something, they perceive it as much lower.

  • Brand loyalty: some customers also like the visuals of certain products, and the emotional attachments that form there. This influences the purchasing decisions that are there. they’re highly likely to forgive defects in products if they are detached emotionally to brands and imagery. This is also how a packaging design impacts the loyalty of customers as well.

These are a few of the ways, and here, we’ll discuss the ways to incorporate this.

Typography

This is important, especially when it comes to fonts that are there for businesses, and also the different options for a product. For example, silly, playful fonts are found for companies selling toys. Using more elegant fonts for products that are supposed to be luxury will help give that idea. The font says so much about brands and will tell a customer more before they even read your content!

Colors

Colors play a huge part in the perception of brands. Below are some of the top color associations:

  • White: purity, simplicity, freshness, ideal for a brand that’s authoritative

  • Black: elegance, oftentimes used for luxury brands

  • Green: conveys freshness, eco friendly, and nature, in natural and sustainable choices.  It works well with eco friendly packaging

  • Red: anger, lust, catching the eye, it’s good for encouraging impulsiveness

  • Yellow: symbolizes warmth, optimism, along with energy, which is good for seasonal items

  • Gray: authority along with maturity, so good for automotive and functional items

  • Blue: neutrality, calm, and cleanliness, oftentimes used in medicinal products

  • Pink: symbolizes romance and beauty, ideal for cosmetics

You can also use different shades that also change the perception, but it’s also a good chance for you to leverage these brands without putting all of this into writing.

Images

Finally, imagery is your friend. That’s why brands have a bunch of logos. Engaging in the eye of the customer, presenting them with images that are memorable are the best for brands, allowing you to stand out from others.

There are also some engaging images that you can use, and it can be good for enhancing the brand’s perception.

Adding custom stickers and images to the packaging is good, because it can make a person feel some sort of emotion. When connected with branding, it gets the attention, doing the same for a lot of customers too. It’s great for captivating and bringing customers in.

If you want to improve your brand, make sure you look at the right ways to get to their head, and their emotions to get them to buy from you
